In 2015 Pt England School is implementing digital learning environments in years 1-3 enabling every child to learn across the curriculum using a personal iPad. My name is Michelle George and I will be facilitating the implementation within each classroom. My Blog will be following this adventure and sharing how our Learn, Create, Share pedagogy is further transformed into a sustainable, co-creative and highly innovative practice in our junior school.

Ms George
Welcome to my Blog! I am a Yr 7 & 8 teacher at St Patrick's School, Panmure. I have been fortunate enough to have worked within the Manaiakalani Cluster prior to inception riding the wave of innovation and design. Currently I'm sharing an Inquiry exploring the Arts, specifically Drama, and its role in raising our literacy levels.

Term 1 for 1 to 1 in Years 1 to 3

This term will see the roll out and implementation of iPads throughout Years 1 to 3 at Pt England School. We have been working towards a smooth transition towards 1 to 1 devices by providing two terms of professional development for all staff in the junior school and beyond.

Term 2 for 1 to 1 in Years 1 to 3

Time for a change of focus. Last term the students learnt how to use all the tools in Explain Everything. This term I will be in class supporting the reading programme. I will be working with different reading groups ensuring the students are able to access and complete activities and export them upon completion. After working with each group I plan to add on extra pages to their Explain Everything activity depending on their learning needs. It is also an opportunity to discuss activity designs and innovation with the teacher before and after these sessions so ideas can be shared learners needs personalised.

Term 3 for 1 to 1 in Years 1 to 3

This term we have had a cyber smart focus. The Year 1 children are learning to say nice things and share their wonderful work.
The Year 2 group are practicing Blogging their own learning and commenting on their classmates Blogs in a positive manner. The children love seeing their work come up on their Blog and really enjoy reading the comments their friends are making.

Term 4 for 1 to 1 in Years 1 to 3

The final term for 2015! What a great year. PES has successfully gone 1 to 1 in years 1 to 3! The transition has been smooth and engaging for both the teachers and learners. This term, my final as facilitator, is going to see a continuation of designing, innovating and using our cybersmart skills to maintain a positive online presence.
